VPT Energy Systems Completes Prius Plug-in Hybrid Conversion

VPT Energy Systems principals Glenn Skutt and Jack Lesko recently completed converting a 2005 Toyota Prius to a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle using the CalCars Prius Plus conversion method and Nilar Ni-MH battery packs.
The converted vehicle has an all electric range of about 15 miles and is fashioned after the Plug-In Conversions system.
The conversion is currently instrumented for data collection and performance documentation and is under evaluation for future conversions and product development.
